a little something about CFH...

Pt. Washington is the place where Walton County resident Chandra F. Hartman has made her home. She’s a mother, earth activist, designer, and urban farmer. Founder of CFH Design Studio, a residential design business, Chandra has expanded her work to incorporate permaculture design, consultation, instruction, and micro-farming.

In 2005, she completed the Hands-on Sustainability Workshop at Ecosa Institute, which involved the use of natural building materials and appropriate technologies. She received a degree in architectural design in 1996. In 2007, she attended an Earth Activist Training course with Starhawk, Patricia Allison, and Penny Livingston-Stark, where she received her Permaculture Design Certificate. In 2008, she completed 60 hours of PV design instruction from Solar Energy International. In 2009, she earned a BA in Sustainable Community Development from Prescott College. Chandra also maintains the loose and creative web structure of SWELL—South Walton Environmental and Low-impact Living.

Any given day she can be found harvesting food from her garden (or counter), working on a residential design, or teaching permaculture workshops with Kat M. Provencher. Recent projects include the Seaside Neighborhood School Corner Garden, permaculture design for the Horn Residence (both co-designed with Kat), and the renovation of a 1950’s schoolhouse into a bed & breakfast.
